According to Vogue, legendary Designer Slava Zaitsev seduce today is audience as easily as he did when he first launched his career in the early 1960s. His signature gowns and coats, often made with the rich, traditional floral prints of pavlovo posad scarves, are finished with a couture-like hand. His name is the epitome of luxury. Zaitsev is a household name in Russia. During the ’60s and ’70s, he was known in the French press as the Soviet Union’s answer to Christian Dior, or rather, “Red Dior.” In an article called “Postcards From the USSR” in its October 1988 issue, Vogue called Zaitsev “the czar of Soviet fashion.” And this doesn’t change today.
