Annabel Lee Valentine Wolfe

We have been so influenced by the works of Poe! This song is influenced by the poem Annable Lee, of course. But we also wanted to combine Poe’s real life experience with his young wife Virginia. They wed when whe was awfully young. The lyrics for the third verse confirm this. They are taken from Poe’s correspondence with Virginia’s mother. Poe was courting Virginia and wrote a letter to her mother basically saying, “Let me have under her own hand a letter bidding me goodbye. I may die, my heart will break, but I will say no more.“ I paraphrase a bit here for the purpose of good singing syllables, but that was his message. His poor beautiful wife Virginia died when she was so young, but at least she and Poe had a happy life while they were together. This film was shot and edited by Kevin Woods and Vic Aviles from Dead Horse Productions in Anderson, SC.
