Uhritulet (Finland) — S/T — 2023 full length

The debut of this solo act from Finland. A project that approaches black metal through a mid-paced second wave route, highly harmonious as is usual from Finland but occasionally adding folk textures and some amount of synths. This record is a finely sculpted black pearl, and while it does not lack aggression, it is easily felt that its primal focus is to create the various synergic layers that show an above normal interaction of instruments and great details on the melody. One that if used a more “classical” set of instruments would easily appeal to even a wider fan base due to the uncontested songwriting qualities. A perfect start for this project, but considering the label, is no surprise at all.
