Iran releases surveillance video of US Navy ships in Persian Gulf Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy released footage of its surveillance of US and allied navy vessels in the Persian Gulf. The warships shadowed and filmed included a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship and the Spanish helicopter carrier Juan Carlos I. The video’s release comes amid heightened tensions after the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, with Iran vowing retaliation against Israel.
