Prince meets dignitaries and then inspects guard of honour by Royal Navy. Various MSs Prince ceremonially unlocking gate. Prince and dignitaries walking down steps. Mayor makes speech. Good CUs Prince making speech (he wears Naval uniform). Crowds applaud. Prince receives gift of silver box and then signs book. Various shots crowds on beach and seafront, pier in background. Royal car comes to a halt, Prince gets out dressed in civvies. We see him meeting dignitaries. NB: original record incorrect - Prince Albert does NOT feature in this item.
