Masking With Luminance Range In Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

Luminance Range Masks are one of the most powerful new tools that we have inside of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic version 11. When we create a Luminance Range Mask, we are defining a specific range of brightness values that we want to adjust throughout our image. With the right mask, you can target specific improvements to the shadows, the mid-tones, and the highlights in your raw image without affecting anything else. Selecting the parts of your image that you want to enhance using brightness values, rather than with shapes or colors, is not for beginners. To understand Luminance Range Masks, you must understand that our scale of brightness in Lightroom Classic for any given pixel runs from pure-black, which has a luminance value of zero, all the way up to paper-white which has a value of 100.
