Dream On - Aerosmith

Steven Tyler First single from the band’s first album, Aerosmith, released in 1973, a song written by vocalist Steven Tyler in 1965, when he was 17 years old and Aerosmith did not exist. Steven composed this song dedicated to his father, a student at the prestigious Juilliard School of Classical Music. He always repeated to his son the message of the chorus of the song : “Dream On” ...Steven confessed to having taken the chords and melody out of the classical music pieces that his father performed at home. “I grew up, under the piano, listening and living among the notes of Chopin, Bach, Beethoven, Debussy ... That’s where the chord sequence from ’Dream On’ came to mind. It is simple. It’s about dreaming until your dreams come true. It’s about the hunger, the desire and the ambition to be somebody… This song sums up the shit you put up with when you’re in a new band. Most of the critics reviewed our first album and said we were stealing from the Stones… ’Dream On’ came from me playing the piano when I was about 17 or 18 years old, and I didn’t know anything about writing a song. It was just this little sonnet that I started playing one day. I never thought it would end up being a real song. “ Steven Tyler Every time when I look in the mirror All these lines on my face getting clearer The past is gone And it went by, like dusk to dawn Isn’t that the way? Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay Yeah, I know nobody knows Where it comes and where it goes I know it’s everybody’s sin You got to lose to know how to win Half my life’s in books, written pages Live and learn from fools and from sages You know it’s true, oh All the things come back to you Sing with me, sing for a year Sing for the laughter, and sing the tear Sing with me, if it’s just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear Sing it with me, if it’s just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream until the dream come true Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream until your dream come true Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream on, ah Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it’s just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear Sing it with me, if it’s just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away #DreamOn #Aerosmith #DreamOnAerosmith #AerosmithDreamOn #StevenTyler
