Plane Crash Heroes Dublin Issue (1941)

Part of Dublin issue. Title reads: “Plane Crash Heroes“. Jamaica Bay, New York, United States of America (USA). Various shots of pilot and navigator, Lieutenant Robert Winston and Lieutenant Moroni, climbing into their aircraft, a single engined naval biplane. We see the plane taking off over the sea. Narrator explains that the landing gear has jammed preventing the airmen from landing safely. Various shots of US Navy rescue team springing into action. The crash crew includes: fire fighters, a deep-sea diver, coast guard seaplane and rescue rowing boats. We see them making preparations; the boat rows out into the bay, the seaplane taking off. L/S of plane landing with a crash in sea, the rescue team are on hand to help the pilots. Panning C/U of Winston and Moroni removing their flying helmets, safe and without injury after their ordeal.
