Putin Vows To Boost Naval Power As Russia Rolls Out New Nuclear Subs, Ukraine Gets UK Minehunters

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a televised flag-raising ceremony on December 11 for two nuclear submarines. Putin travelled to the northern city of Severodvinsk to view the vessels at the Sevmash shipbuilding yard. The Russian President said that the vessels, Krasnoyarsk and Emperor Alexander the Third, were part of a strategic drive to project Russian naval power.
