Mick Jagger and Partner Melanie Hamrick Lead Celebs at King’s Versailles Banquet

Mick Jagger and his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick looked delighted to attend the King’s state banquet in France yesterday. The occasion marked the Royals’ state visit to France, and was attended by King Charles 3, Queen Camilla, and a whole host of political and famous faces. French President Emmanuel Macron chatted with King Charles at the very lar-de-dar event. The Start Me Up hitmaker, 80, looked chic in a black gold-buttoned suit, white shirt, bow tie and patterned scarf. Meanwhile, his partner Melanie, 36 – who the star welcomed their seven-year-old child, Deveraux, with when he was 73 and she was 29 – looked fit for royalty in a jewel-encrusted cape, and long black dress. The US choreographer and former ballerina wore her hair in a neat bun, and sported some a gorgeous necklace and earring combination. The rockstar – who just enjoyed the release of brand new song, Angry – was spotted chatting to ex Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger at the event. Elsewhere, Notting Hill actor Hugh Grant looked sharp for the occasion in a penguin suit, while King Charles left his crown at home on this occasion, and Queen Camilla opted for a simple navy dress and sparkling blue, diamond-rimmed jewels. The state banquet at the Palace of Versailles, west of Paris, marked the first day of the British royal state visit to France. This comes after it was rumoured Melanie and Mick were ‘engaged’ back in July, although neither have confirmed this. A source claimed that during a recent trip to New York, Melanie ‘was at the American Ballet Theatre and she was telling her friends she was engaged to Mick’. They continued, ‘She was very clear her ring is an ­engagement ring and she is now his fiancée. Her family also very much understand them to be engaged and are thrilled.’ In addition to the son that Sir Mick shares with Melanie, the musician has seven other children, bringing his brood total to eight.
