What is Optimus 2? The Elon Musk-owned Tesla company arranges an annual event called Tesla AI Day as a showcase for the company’s cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence advancements. This event not only highlights Tesla’s strides in AI but also serves as a platform to attract top-notch AI researchers and implementers. But you wouldn’t expect a rather comic presentation from such a big robotics company, would you? But unfortunately, it has happened. During the 2021 AI Day, Tesla introduced the Tesla Bot in a somewhat clumsy manner, featuring a human pretending to be a humanoid robot performing dance moves! Elon Musk announced that a prototype of the robot will be coming sometime in the near future. The display of Optimus with a human inside the suit led many to dismiss it as a mere spectacle. However, by May 2023, the skeptics were silenced as Tesla presented functional robot prototypes capable of independent walking and object manipulation.
