Leading figures from the seven UK political parties have taken part in the BBC election debate. The politicians clashed over the economy, armed forces, NHS, immigration and climate policy. The line-up included Conservative’s Penny Mordaunt, Labour’s Angela Rayner, Stephen Flynn from the Scottish National Party, Liberal Democrat’s Daisy Cooper, Green Party’s Carla Denyer, Plaid Cymru’s Rhun ap Iorwerth and Nigel Farage of Reform UK. Mordaunt said UK PM Rishi Sunak was “completely wrong“ to leave D-Day events early - which the PM earlier admitted was a “mistake“.
