Scottish piper Jimi McRae joins Russian bikers and civic dignitaries at a remembrance ceremony commemorating the great Allied victory in Europe over the Nazis in WW2. (The Great Patriotic War as it is known in Russia) Tributes were paid to the millions of ordinary people from many countries who gave their lives in the conflict. Video footage is from the Russian city of Samara which stands beside the Volga River. McRae, along with other acts, was performing at an ’Anti-Fascist Music Festival’ called ’Guitars In the Ranks’ during early May, 2023, in the run up to the 78th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe) on May 8th.
