SYSTEM OF A DOWN - QUESTION! (Drum Cover)

Cover #35. As we entered a little bit of Odd Meter land last week, I figured we’d do another tune with “Odd“ time signatures this week, too! This tune by System of a Down is probably one of my favorite tunes off their later albums, it has the older SoaD vibe and is at the same time very unique. The time signatures used are 5/4, 9/8, 6/4 and 4/4. I love how they take their 6/4 chorus and turns it into 4/4 for the final chorus. Really cool! The tricky parts with this tune is learning how to feel the 5/4 and 9/8, and then the parts where John is playing 16’ths on the hi-hat. Mainly to open/close the hi-hat on the up-beats, and for the 4/4 part; the bass drum pattern if you’re playing single pedal. It’s a fast tempo and a challenge to keep even! A year has passed since I covered ’Vicinity of Obscenity’, and I felt like it was time for another System of a Down tune. I had a hard time choosing the song last year, I got it down to three tunes; Vicinity, Question! and Spiders, and you guys voted this tune 2nd place,
