Formula 3 - Dies Irae 1970 ( Italy, Psychedelic/Progressive Rock) Full Album

The debut album of one of the most popular Italian bands of the early 70s (before the era of the PFM and Banco groups)... Guitarist, singer and producer Alberto Radius was born in Rome on June 1, 1943. Considered one of the best Italian guitarists. Radius began his musical career in the late 50s. After a break for military service, he again began performing in entertainment clubs in various Italian cities. However, this period did not last long, because he was soon invited to the group “I Quelli” (the future “Premiata Forneria Marconi”). With this group, which then changed its name to PFM, Radius recorded his first songs and began to develop his own individual style of guitar playing. Soon Radius left the group and organized, together with Tony Cicco and Gabriele Lorenzi, the group “Formula 3”. After meeting Lucio Battisti, the group debuted under Battisti’s newly created Numero 1 label, recording Battisti’s own song “Questo Folle Sentimento“, which reached number one on the charts. Lucio Battisti and produced their first album. “Dies Irae“ features a colorful psychedelic cover and introduces the signature Formula 3 sound, based on a combination of guitar and organ with the pleasant vocals of drummer Cicco and is a mixture of prog and hard rock. The album was released in 1970, and its outline was precisely the sound of Radius’ guitar. Tracks: 01. Dies Irae -00:00 02. Non È Francesca - 07:45 04.
