Ich bin ein Berliner - John F. Kennedy’s visit to Germany in 1963

June 26th will mark the 50th anniversary of U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s famous speech: “Ich bin ein Berliner“. The speech, which underlined the United States support for West Germany in the wake of the construction of the Berlin Wall, proved to be a great morale boost for the people of West Berlin. It concluded President Kennedy’s state visit to Germany, during which he also visited the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Hanau, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Stock footage available for licensing at
