King & Queen Visit Textile Centres (1914-1918)

Royal visit to textile industrial centres. King George V & Queen Mary visit textile industrial centres in England. Opens with DS of the King & Queen with an entourage following; making their way through a crowd. CU They shake hands with a few elderly people; 2 old ladies kiss the Queen’s hand as they curtsy. A little electric train car; attached to wires above; runs on a track; rounding curve as it approaches camera— but not on a city street - it looks more like a railroad yard or something of the sort. The King and Queen and a bunch of other people ride on the roofless single car; crowds stand on side of tracks waving flags. King & Queen get out of an automobile in a square in some large city; a huge crowd in BG. They walk up steps toward camera.
