[4K] Polo Reef Episode #-6 DIARY OF A MAD REEF KEEPER

For our 6th episode of Diary of a Mad Reefkeeper, we start a little differently, with a visit with the three daughters of one of our good friends. As with most kids, they wanted to see in person our little reef and all the equipment that goes into making it run. It was great for us to get the perspective of such sweet innocent girls and hear their questions. While they liked the corals, they loved the many rare fish, and it was a pleasure to get to share their perspective on our tank. In part two, we are back in the quarantine room, quarantine never stops, where we are testing the copper levels in the tanks that are housing Rachid’s fish while he gets ready to set up a new tank. Maintaining the proper copper level is crucial as too high is toxic for many fish, and too low will not kill the parasites, so we need to regularly assess the level. Additionally, one angelfish will receive another injection for its treatment, and our pond supervisor, who has done this with koi, will give the injection. In part three, we show off the new mask that allows radio communication while in the tank. We try to use this while Rachid and Michelle try to catch a few fish that are not looking right. Needless to say that while catching fish from most reef tanks is difficult, catching them in 17,000 gallons of space is nearly impossible. Part four reveals some problems with the new mask. It fills with water, making it necessary to postpone fish-catching and get it functioning correctly. Once done and working properly, Rachid can go back to inspecting corals, with help from the outside, and get back to catching the sick fish. In part five, we give up on catching the fish and try to think of another solution. While this tank functions excellently most of the time, occasionally, there are setbacks, like sick fish or corals that don’t do well or stay in place. Fortunately, we have learned not to stress about this, so even when things aren’t perfect, we can still sit back, listen to music, and enjoy the tank, which is the best part of having it. *************************** ☛ SUBSCRIBE for the latest *************************** ☘ GIVEAWAYS more!
