Titles read: “A PAGE FROM MRS ROOSEVELT’S DIARY“. Kent. Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of America and wife of US President Franklin D Roosevelt, visiting Canterbury. She meets Civil Defence workers and then goes on to see the Cathedral and meets the Dean, Dr Hewlett Johnson. Several shots of bomb damage in Canterbury; inflicted that evening by 50 German fighter-bombers. Mrs Roosevelt then visits the small village of Barham in Kent. She looks in at a bazaar / jumble sale and sees how rural England is ’doing its bit’. M/S of Mrs Roosevelt talking to her son Elliott who is in uniform (and is very good looking).
