A simply stunning specially recorded live performance from Rouhangeze Baichoo for International Women’s Day 2021 with Tomasz Bura ’I chose to perform Mélodie La Mer for its hypnotic character and it’s simplicity. I’m accompanied by Pianist Composer Tomasz Bura. This song is originally composed by the acclaimed Mauritian sega pioneer singer songwriter percussionist Menwar whom I have the great pleasure to record with for my album ’evasio’ coming out this year. Moreover, I miss the colours and the heat of Mauritius tremendously at the moment. The lyrics in the song take me back to the beautiful beaches where I can enjoy the beautiful dramatic Mauritius sunset, listening to the sounds and watching the motions of the sea... The sea sings her own song and dances her own dance. That is the story that this piece attempts to tell’
