Working Group meetings 3. Ideas generation (or creative meetings) 4. Decision-making And I’ll give you my best tips for how to run each of these special meeting types. Ask, What... - did you do yesterday that helped us meet our goal? - will you do today to help us meet our goal? - impediment that prevents you or us from meeting our goal? - did you learn yesterday?’ Working Group Meetings --------------------------------------- Set the agenda at the very start of the meeting Adapt it to the priorities of the people attending Take items in priority order Close promptly with a quick agreement on handling the lower priority items you weren’t able to cover Ideas-generation Meetings (Brainstorming / Creative Meetings) ------------------------------------------ Brainstorming is not a great technique So make use of reflecting, writing, clustering, and discussing, to get the best from your participants Decision-making Meetings ------------------------------------------ Be clear about what decision you need to make For each option: - Get the facts out first - Clarify and seek observations before asking for opinions - Assess the option and then move onto the next option Compare options Create a decision RECOMMENDED EXERCISE ====================== 1.
