The Taus Instrument - the persian name for peacock | Raag Dhanasri | Preetinder Singh

Preetinder Singh plays a musical Shaan in Raag Dhanasri on his Taus. Preetinder Singh serves as Raj Academy’s Chief Awesome Officer and keeps inspiring our students as one of our lead teachers with his warm and motivating approach, ensuring all our learners achieve their full potential. The Taus is the blessing of the great tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who designed this beautiful instrument in the shape of a peacock. As a master of the Persian language he named this glorious instrument ’Taus’, which is the literal translation for ’peacock’. Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj used to play the Taus himself to guide us by example. The sound of the Taus is wonderfully melodious, taking you to a complete heavenly state where you can feel the warmth of the universe. -------------------------------------------------- Resources: ✨ Get close up to the Dilruba (smaller version of the Taus) and learn how to hold the bow, where to place your fingers and how to start
