WRC 2024: Rallye Monte-Carlo - Best of Rally1 Cars: Top Speed Fly Bys, Fast Sections & Max Attack!
With the previous WRC Plus cars I’ve learned that WRC rounds were to be watched and recorded on fast and high speed sections, where those aerodynamic monsters gave their best. Now with the new, more powerful Rally1 I wanted to adopt the same strategy and it wasn’t a bad choice at all, even though I noticed firsthand how much more difficult it is to drive these cars on the limit in comparison, due to the different weights involved, less aero and the lack of the active central differential.
Group Rally1 cars have two radical new features for the World Rally Championship: the first is the introduction of a hybrid electric power system, linked to the existing turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in use on the previous WRC Plus cars.
The second is related to their origin. In fact Rally1 machines have no series production car requirement. They still have to be identifiable as being based on a series production model but tubular space frame structures are permitted allowing for scaling o
