Full title reads: “The Royal Family Leave For Home“. South Africa. Departure scenes on the dockside at Cape Town and on board the warship HMS Vanguard. LS King George VI and Prime Minister Field Marshal Jan Christian Smuts walking along the quay to join the rest of the Royal party before going aboard. CU Head shot of Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Mother). Head shots in turn of the King, Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret Rose, as they pass in succession before the camera saying goodbye and shaking hands with personalities.
