Tearing up discs: tilted black hole accretion - large inclination

Accretion discs which are misaligned to the spin of a black hole precess. This precession drives a warp in the disc. In this case the communication of the precession, by viscosity, is not strong enough to hold the disc together. Instead of a smooth warp, the disc breaks and accretes much faster.
