The TF2 (team fortress 2) core was as a spherical (14 lb) subcritical mass of australium 89 millimetres (3.5 in) in diameter, manufactured by Mann Co. as fissile core for an early cringe bomb. The core was prepared for shipment as part of the Heavy Update to be released in [REDACTED], the core was retained at 2Fort for testing and potential later use. It was involved in two cringe accidents at the 2Fort RED Spawn Room on July 1, 2022, and July 2, 2022, each resulting in a fatality of cringe. Both experiments were designed to demonstrate how close the core was to criticality with a tamper, but in each case, the core was accidentally placed into a supercringe configuration.
