Cinema 4D Tutorial How To Pose Your Unrigged Character NEW

Sometimes it’s needed to animate a downloaded model from the internet which isn’t prepared for animation, which is posed in the wrong position and doesn’t have a rig to fix it. Some models are made for printing like this Leonardo character that stands in the wrong position,- head turned to the side its leg is looking somewhere in the direction. And if we import such a model into Mixamo it will be displayed incorrectly - it will look to the side, instead of looking straight, walk crookedly, and so on. So to fix it and align our head and leg let’s go back to C4D. Turn on polygon mode, take the Live Selection tool and turn off the Visible Only mode to select all the polygons Select the polygons of any area that needs to be aligned. Hold down Shift to keep selecting. And after you have selected an area. Take the Rotation and Position tool and just turn your head, arm, leg, or whatever you selected, as it should be, and put it in the position you need. Then, with CTRL pressed, you can deselect some areas to edit the smaller selected details. When you have everything set up and aligned the way you want it, you will have some warp zones. To fix this - select the Brush tool by clicking the right mouse button in the viewport or through the Sculpt tab. Set the size to a smaller one and select Smooth mode. Now paint with this brush the entire area that you have deformed. This tool will smooth out all broken and twisted polygons. How well it will smooth out depends on the strength you set. This process is one big anti-stress. After you have aligned it - materials will lay down well and there will be no distortions in the polygons. Let’s do the same with the leg. Select it. We take the Rotation tool, turn it in the direction we need, and move it where it should be. Press M then C on your keyboard to turn on the Brush tool and smooth out all the bumps again. So in general, our object is ready. Now, if we import it into Mixamo, it will walk and animate correctly. Of course, we can still spread our arms and so on. But I think you can guess how to do it. Thank you!
