Smart clothing could help stroke survivors regain control of limbs – BBC News
A new smart sweatshirt is being tested on stroke survivors to help people regain control of their arms, technology programme BBC Click reports.
The device in the clothing directs a force to a specific muscle so that over time it can retrain the brain. Eventually it will help the user regain control of their limb.
One of the challenges faced in designing medical devices for rehabilitation is getting people to use them over time.
In the case of wearables, people need to like the thing they’ll put on.
