Israeli forces beat, detain Al Jazeera correspondent during raid on Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital

Israeli military forces arrested Ismail Al-Ghoul, a correspondent for Al Jazeera Arabic, from inside Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital after storming the largest medical complex in the Strip. Witnesses and reporters on the ground confirmed that Israeli forces severely beat up Alghoul before taking him to an undisclosed location along with other men and women. Israeli forces also destroyed broadcast equipment belonging to press crews at al-Shifa Hospital. The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that two Palestinians were killed and wounded as a result of today’s attack carried out by Israeli forces on the al-Shifa Medical Complex in northern Gaza. Israeli Army Radio said that army units took control of the medical complex and arrested dozens of Palestinians. This is the second time that Israeli forces have stormed the al-Shifa Hospital since the beginning of the aggression against Gaza on October 7, and the first time was on November 16 after they besieged it for at least a week. At that time, Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital, after destroying its courtyards, parts of its buildings, medical equipment and equipment, in addition to the hospital’s electricity generator. The hospital was a base for journalists to report from throughout Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip. The medical complex’s courtyard has been bulldozed, while the Israeli army has opened fire towards its buildings warning those inside it not to approach the windows, witnesses said.
