Speaking at a joint press conference on the night of 20 March 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that in the future, with the contribution of Japan, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port will become not only important for Cambodia but also an important port in the region. This is an agreement between the two prime ministers after more than two hours of meeting on the evening of March 20. The Prime Minister of Japan, Kishida Fumio, confirmed in a press conference tonight that Cambodia is a country full of potential.
