Kayak Men (1932)

German canoeists practice their capsizing techniques. Introductory intertitle reads: “Once upon a time, only the Eskimo, who lived in a land fit for zeros, was supposed to handle those small native kayaks.“ C/U of three Eskimos in Kayaks then an overhead shot of an Eskimo capsizing his kayak on purpose - he rolls over in the water. L/S of group of men canoeing towards the camera in a sunny climate (they are not Eskimos!) “Today, however, the fellows on the Isar River, Germany, are getting just as upset on the game.“ L/S of German canoeists practising their technique. M/S of one of them rolling over and over in the water, capsizing then popping up again. They canoe towards the camera then all capsize. They form a star pattern with their canoes and capsize.
