Heavy Jelly - Take Me Down To The Water 1970 (UK, Psychedelic , Blues Rock)
The band was founded in early 1969 in London at the initiative of John Moorshead, guitarist , known for his blues- rock band “The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation“. Initially, the team also included another member of “The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation“ - bassist Alex Dmochowski, and drummer Carlo Little, who played with the “Screaming Lord Sutch & The Savages“. A little later, the group members joined the British “Traffic“ - Jim Capaldi as a singer and as a drummer (in place of the departed Carlo Little), as well as saxophonist and flutist Chris Wood. Completed the formation of Jackie Lomax, known for his participation in the group “The Undertakers“, “The Lomax Alliance“ and Barry Jenkins, speaking in “The Animals“. In the summer of 1970 after the next change in the group included : Moorshead, Lomax, Steve Thompson, Bruce Rowland. Lomax later went to the United States after the signing of the contract with the “Warner Brothers“ resumed his solo career. The group was associated with a small company, “Head“, which boss John Curd registered the name “Heavy Jelly“. Back in 1969 , the band recorded the single “Time Out (The Long Wait) / Chewn In“, and in late 1969 - early 1970, already in the lineup, far from the original , recorded a self-titled album , however , the spread of this work was limited to advertising purposes . The official release took place only in 1984, thanks to the company’s “Psycho“, the album title was changed to “Take Me Down To The Water“. After the collapse of “Heavy Jelly“ in 1970, John Moorshead worked with Graham Bond and Denny Laine. Dmochowski played with Bond, Peter Green and Frank Zappa. Carlo Little appeared in the formations of “Hurricane“, “Flying Fox“ and “The Florida Sun“, but above all, he is known as a wholesaler of bread and died in 2005. Lomax not only continued his solo career , but also played on the team “Badger“; died Sept. 15, 2013 . Capaldi and Wood returned to the “Traffic“. Thompson began working with “Spooky Tooth“. Rowland worked with “Grease Band“ and “Fairport Convention“.
