S. Korea becomes 9th largest contributor to the United Nations

According to Seoul’s foreign ministry, the nation’s contributions will account for more than 2-point-5 percent of the global body’s total budgets for regular and peacekeeping operations from 2022 to 2024. In terms of the budget percentage, that’s a 3-point-7 fold increase compared to 1991 when South Korea first joined the UN. The country aims to assume greater responsibilities on the international stage in line with its higher global status.
