The Right Hat - And The Wrong Way (1925)

Intertitle suggests: “It isn’t always the hat that looks “Just sweet“ or “Too awful“ ladies - frequently it’s the way it’s worn.“ L/S of a set made to represent a milliners shop. Two ladies walk in and the milliner takes the hat and purse of one of the women. She grabs a hat and perches it ridiculously on the top of her head. She turns her head and laughs. “Quite right. It was funny. So our expert from Maison Lewis stepped in and showed just how that satin “pull-on“ hat should be worn - “ The hat is pulled low on the lady’s head and the milliner tucks her hair inside the hat. This time the hat looks better. “Now, the other Lady fancied a dainty mauve pedal straw - “ She again perches the hat on her head. She looks into the mirror - it looks pretty rotten. She looks shocked, a feather hanging down at the front adds to the comedy effect. “Take it away“ she exclaimed “Excuse me“ said Mam’zelle “but “ The milliner puts the hat on the correct way, low on the back of the head with the hair
