How-To: DIY Beard for Kids Costumes (No Sewing Required!)

Materials: - Brown felt (1 sheet 9x12 inches) - Black felt (1 sheet 9x12 inches) - Yellow felt (1 sheet 9x12 inches) - Elastic band - Marker - Hot glue gun and sticks - Scissors How to: Brown Beard: 1. For the brown beard base: Fold a sheet of brown felt in half lengthwise. Draw half a beard shape with an opening for the mouth onto the felt and cut out. Unfold and trim as needed to get desired shape. 2. For the beard “hairs”: Cut long thin strips of brown felt and fringe cut each strip to make the beard hairs. Hot glue the strips horizontally to the beard base beginning at the bottom and trimming the strips as needed. 3. For the elastic: Cut a strip of elastic that will fit around the back of the child’s head to the sides of the face. Hot glue the elastic band to each side of the beard. Black Beard: 1. Follow steps 1 & 3 above and use black felt. Yellow Beard: 1. Follow steps 1 & 3 above and fringe cut the bottom edge of the beard.
