Bar Mariam/ Baru Mariyam

Bar Mariam (Son of Mary) is an ancient East Syriac chant. This song is mostly sung at the end of Knanaya wedding ceremonies. This Syriac chant was translated by Mr PU Luke, a scholar in Knanaya history, in his book titled ‘PURATHANA PAATTUKAL’ (Ancient songs) in the year1910. This book is currently published by Jyothi Book House, Kottayam, India. This song is not produced in a studio. We have used mobile audio applications for recording, and garageband for audio mixing . Audio and video mixing was done by novices in the field.
