Alter-Ego ft Logendra and Iswarya

Lord Vishnu the omnipresent trickster. Silver-tongued and mercurial, the trickster is a boundary crosser, a shape-shifter who can alter form, and can travel between worlds — and in the act of transformation, questions our traditional rigid concepts. The trickster is an agent of subversion and an instigator of change. Mohini, means ‘erotic magic or spell’ or an enchantress. She is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the form of a woman — alludes to the boundary crossing, subversive, shape-shifting nature of the trickster. Mohini is beautiful, charm incarnate, and her weapon of choice is not a spear or a sword, or any other weapon associated with war. Her weapon is seduction. She uses her beauty to trick. During the churning of the milk ocean, the Lord transforms into Mohini, enchanting the asuras, and steals the nectar of immortality from them and brings it to the devas. Mohini’s transformation blurs and questions ideas of gender — she seems to be the original ‘gender fluid’ deity with an ambiguous identity. So is this where Masculinity and Femininity strike a balance? Or is it all one from the same source? Well, maybe for some of us, its an ’Alter-Ego’ unleashed when necessary! Mohini, the maya (illusion) of Vishnu!
