Rooney Mara (“Lisbeth Salander“) on the red carpet for the much-anticipated “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.“ While the film had already been made in Swedish, David Fincher [“The Game,“ “The Social Network“] took on the adaptations for the bigger-budgeted, English language films of the Millenium trilogy. Brilliantly cast in the leads are Daniel Craig (aka James Bond) as Blomkvist, and Rooney Mara [“The Social Network“] as Lisbeth Salander. Mara has a difficult task given the acclaim lauded on Noomi Rapace for her take on the heroine in the Swedish franchise, but early sneaks at Mara’s Salander were more than encouraging, they were exciting.
