O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (Veni, Veni, Emmanuel) - S. Metzger - Hymn Arrangement - Viscount Ouverture

Samuel Metzger is an American organist and composer. He served as senior organist at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church (PCA), Fort Lauderdale, FL (successor of Diane Bish, I presume), and he is currently organist & music associate at Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Nashville, TN. I recently bought a collection of hymns that he arranged, and today I am playing one based on the popular “O come, o Come, Emmanuel“ (Veni, Veni, Emmanuel). I suppose that having served at the same church where Diane Bish was organist for many years must have influenced Mr. Metzger’s compositional style; the sudden modulations that he adds to the piece are a clear trademark of Diane Bish’s arrangements. This is the perfect piece to make a lot of noise, so I did not miss the chance to pull out all the stops (and couplers) of my fantastic Viscount Ouverture. Enjoy! #viscount #ocomeocomeemmanuel #hymn
