Ingredients
2 cups of Basmati rice
500g mutton, diced
2 large onions, thinly sliced
4 carrots, julienned
1 head of garlic, minced
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups hot water or broth
Fresh cilantro for garnish
[Preparation]
“To start, rinse the Basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Then, soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes. This will ensure fluffy and separated grains when the Plov is cooked.“
“In a large, heavy-bottomed pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a moment. Now, add the sliced onions and cook until they become golden brown.“
