Feltham, Middlesex.
Various demonstrations to show the power of a new invention - a chemical which puts out oil or petrol fires quicker than anything else. Various fires are lit and the chemical is sprayed on them to show how fast it works. Machinery and fabrics are not affected by the new chemical. A small building is set alight and an automatic dispenser is used to put out the fire.
More fires are started with the new chemical coping with them all. Highlight of the demonstrations is a floating self contained extinguisher used in oil tanks. A fire is lit and immediately the sprinkler system springs into action. Narrator explains how if this floating extinguisher had been used, the biggest post war fire to date (in Avonmouth, Bristol) could have been put out in six and a half seconds.
According to paperwork this film was shot at the National Fire Protection Company H.Q. Various paperwork relating to this story is held on file.
