Hiking Up To Date (1932)

Nice item showing a group of young hikers going off on a trip. Pangbourne, Berkshire We see them first at a railway station. There is a sign up which reads: “Hiker’s Mystery Express No. 1“ There is an elderly man standing amongst a group of young women - perhaps he is in charge? One young woman is seen on the train. Then large trail of poeple is seen walking through the countryside. Seems to be mostly women. People walk arm in arm. Girls sitting on tree - “In the fields and far away - this case around Pangbourne, one of England’s prettiest spots“. We see the ramblers walking across fields and beside rivers. Some of the ramblers have a rest sitting beside a haystack. Looks like a fun day out. Has flash-frame intertitles. Was an Eve’s Film Review item. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
