Howdy, In today’s video(s) we will discuss the Ancient Kingdom of the Susquehannock. In a previous video we looked at Wright’s Ferry, and the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Today we will take the history back even further, as I will dive into journal entries dated from 1608 through the mid 1700’s, discussing the lost capital city of the Susquehannock, themselves an indigenous people who resided primarily in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, and other areas of the Susquehanna River. They are said to have ties to the ancient mound builders, being of a substantial physical stature themselves, and their capital was a fortification of immense proportions which sat on the coasts of the Susquehanna River, near what is today Wrightsville, Pennsylvania.
