Tying the Gin & Tonic Pike Fly

I’m a big fan of nayat (snow runner) for it’s durability and movement. It’s also a good natural material which blends well with various flash to add some interest and contrast. This tutorial shows my way of tying in nayat and various options to blend with other materials. The Gin & Tonic is designed for pike and doesn’t have to be with lime, try orange and other contrasting colours too. By the way look out for the trespasser :) Material List Hook: Any big strong hook, but in this case I used the Sakuma Manta 545 6/0 35mm articulated shank from Fishskull Thread: Veevus 100D GSP Skeena River Fly Supply long Nayat in grey and white Bucktail in lime and white blended Deer Creek Predator Fritz in pearl Funky Ripple Flash in pearl Hedron Flashabou in holo silver and olive Hareline Dubbing Ripple Ice Fibre in pearl and chartreuse Long saddle feathers in grey and natural grizzly (optional) Angelina in black blended with nayat to darken the head/shoulder Deer Creek 10mm Gator Eyez in green Finish the head with UV or Liquid Fusion ( I can’t use UV so opt for non-toxic glue like the latter)
