Devastating floods hit Poland, Czech Republic and Austria

Eight people are dead and three missing after torrential rain and flooding in Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Romania after Storm Boris. An Austrian firefighter slipped on a staircase and sustained fatal injuries during a pumping operation in lower Austria as Vienna, the capital, was hit by flooding. The country is experiencing heavy snowfall and rainfall, with the risk of landslides in the coming days. A German hiker has been missing since Sunday after an avalanche.
