Kuokkala (Repino after 1948) is a settlement that dates back to medieval times and was first mentioned in 1323 in a treaty between Sweden and Novgorod.... Frequent wars and border clashes made living in these places unsafe. In 1568, 5 peasant families settled in a deserted village after another war. In 1590, 12 households were already listed in Kuokkal’s tax lists, but they all disappeared at the turn of the century.
