Every 90 minutes, the ISS circles planet Earth as humanity’s first permanent home away from home in space. The space station is developing the technologies and techniques necessary to allow humanity to move outward into the solar system. At the same time, research being conducted on the orbiting outpost is benefiting humanity here on Earth with advances in medicine, biotechnology, physical sciences and many other fields.
