Count to 5 | 5 Little Fish | Finger Play | Counting to 5 | Jack Hartmann

This wonderful count to 5 children’s song and finger play song is one of my all -time favorite finger plays. In addition to being a great circle time song, it also engages children with counting to 5 and basic addition to 5. Children love moving their hands and fingers like little fish swimming, diving and rockin’ to the Beat. This count to 5 basic addition song gets children moving their hands and fingers like little fish swimming and diving. Then, as I add another fish in the song all the children go - Whoops say hello, and add another finger (up to 5) and start swimming and diving. As children are having lots of fun singing the simple words to this cute finger play they are learning and practicing counting to 5 and developing awareness of basic addition. It’s a fantastic song for preschool and early kindergarten as the are learning their numbers and start out basic counting to 5. I always love singing this song in concert because so many children just want to sing a long and participate in the fingerplay. I hope you and all your children love Five Little Fish and make this song and video a regular part of your day and basic math curriculum. Lyrics Hold up your hand – move your fingers to the beat These are the fish swimming in the sea When we start out let me see just one Whoops say “hello” means another fish has come One little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops say “hello“ Two little fish swimming in a row Two little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” Three little fish swimming in a row Three little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” Four little fish swimming in a row Four little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” Five little fish swimming in a row Five little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Five little fish swimming in a row Let’s wave good-bye ‘cause whoops there they go (repeat) To find this and other fun educational songs try my album, I’ve Got Music in Me: This video is on my Learning Rocks Math Skills DVD: Lyrics: Hold up your hand – move your fingers to the beat These are the fish swimming in the sea When we start out let me see just one Whoops say “hello” means another fish has come 1 little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops say “hello 2 little fish swimming in a row 2 little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” 3 little fish swimming in a row 3 little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” 4 little fish swimming in a row 4 little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat Here comes another fish, whoops, say “hello” 5 little fish swimming in a row 5 little fish swimming in the sea Splishing and a splashing rockin’ to the beat 5 little fish swimming in a row Let’s wave good-bye ‘cause whoops there they go (repeat) Activity – Follow the movement words and pretend your five fingers are the little fish.
