Third white kiwi chick hatched at Pukaha Mount Bruce

The third white kiwi chick to hatch at Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre is shown here, being removed from the incubator. The chicked hatched overnight and Rangers found it in the incubator in the morning. Iodine is applied to the navel to aid in drying and preventing infection and then the chick is placed in a dryer to dry out and rest.
