[TUTORIAL] Cross Section Rendering, Wipe On/Off, Cinema 4D + Redshift, With Edge Glow FX, No Plugins

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create cross-section renders with ANY 3d model in C4D, from scratch, using the Redshift Render Engine. Cross-section renders are a great way to showcase your 3d models and are useful for architecture visualization, 3d product renderings, and super stylized VFX Motion Graphics. With this setup, you’ll be able to slice and dice your models in half, any way you want, independent of how dense the geometry is. PLUS, we’ll learn how to create the awesome EDGE GLOW, which takes this effect to the next level. This is an easy setup, using color ramps, plugged into the opacity, and color channels of the redshift standard material. Those ramps are then plugged into a vertex attribute node, that is linked to a vertex map tag, on your object. Then, a linear field is used on the tag, to give you full control of the wipe on / wipe off movement of the cross-section effect. If this sounds complex, no worries, I’m going to guide you every step of the way.
